  • DR ASJAD TARAR

    Dr Tarar works at the practice 5 days per week (Monday to Friday). He is our Safeguarding Lead Clinician and also looks after all of our vulnerable palliative and care home patients. Dr Tarar will be happy to see you in practice, or if you prefer via a telephone/video consultation. Dr Tarar also undertakes home visits as necessary.

    Dr Asim works at the practice 2 days per week (Monday and Tuesday). Dr Asim will be happy to see you in practice, or if you prefer via a telephone/video consultation. If any patient prefers to see a female GP then Dr Asim will be happy to see you. Dr Asim also undertakes home visits as necessary.

    Dr Abbasi works at the practice 1 day per week (Friday). Dr Abbasi will be happy to see you in practice, or if you prefer via a telephone/video consultation. Dr Abbasi also undertakes home visits as necessary.

Nurse Practitioners

  • CLAIRE THORLEY

    Female

    Claire is an experienced Advanced Nurse Practitioner. She works 3 days per week (Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday). She has a vast knowledge with most conditions and has a specialist interest in the Menopause and Peri-menopause. Claire also sees children of any age. Claire is an independent prescriber. Claire will be happy to see you in practice, or if you prefer via a telephone/video consultation.

  • RICCI HIDALGO-CUMBERBATCH

    Female

    Ricci is an experienced Nurse Practitioner who supports the practice in seeing patients with minor illness. She also sees children over 2 years of age. Ricci works 4 days per week (Monday to Thursday). Ricci will be happy to see you in practice, or if you prefer via a telephone/video consultation.

Nurses

Practice nurses are qualified and registered nurses. They can help with health issues such as family planning, healthy living advice, blood pressure checks and dressings. The practice nurses run clinics for long-term health conditions, such as asthma or diabetes, minor ailment clinics and carry out cervical smears. They also offer comprehensive travel advice in our private travel clinics, as well as NHS childhood immunisation clinics.
  • LOUISE WALLACE

    Female

    Louise is also an Independent Nurse Prescriber. She is our Learning Disability Lead Nurse and understands the needs of the vulnerable group of patients. Louise works 5 days per week (Monday to Friday). Louise will be happy to see you in practice, or if you prefer via a telephone/video consultation.

  • MELANIE BROWN

    Female

    Melanie has a specialist interest in women’s health and has a breadth of knowledge with regards to contraception services. Melanie will be happy to see you in practice, or if you prefer via a telephone/video consultation.

Healthcare Assistants

Our healthcare assistants assist our clinical team taking tests and observations as well as seeing patients for health checks and clinical reviews. Our healthcare assistants can also do wound checks and remove sutures/staples.
  • DONNA ARNOLD

    Female

    Donna is very experienced at blood taking in anyone 16 years of age and above. She also undertakes holistic review annual health checks for our most vulnerable patients and visits them at home to determine if they need any further help or support. Donna works 4 days per week (Tuesday – Friday). Donna will be happy to see you in practice, or if you prefer via a telephone/video consultation.

  • KAYLEIGH HODKINSON

    Kayleigh is also experienced at blood taking in anyone 16 years of age and above. She also supports the rest of the team with any tests and health checks for adult patients. Kayleigh works 3 days per week (Monday, Tuesday & Friday). Kayleigh will be happy to see you in practice, or if you prefer via a telephone/video consultation.

Practice Management

  • CATRINA CORNWALL

    Catrina manages the practice and the team of staff to ensure that a high quality service is offered to our patients. Catrina is generally available Monday to Thursday between 8am and 4pm to help with any administration or non-medical aspects of your health treatment. She would also be happy to help with any suggestions or complaints you may have.

    Senior Administrator

    Dianne manages the day to day running of the practice to ensure that we adequately staffed each day, the telephones are manned and answered promptly and when patients arrive in practice, they are seen as quickly as possible. Dianne also processes all of the onward referrals into secondary care or other community services and manages any forms which need to be completed i.e. PIP claims, DVLA forms etc.

Reception

Receptionists provide an important link for patients with the practice and are your initial contact point for appointments, prescriptions or general enquiries. They are all trained in active signposting/care navigation and will ensure that you are seen by the most appropriate clinician as quickly as possible. As well as this our receptionists perform other important tasks such as actioning prescription requests/enquiries, dealing with other patient record information and actioning the various tasks and enquiries that they receive each day.

Pharmacists

  • ALYSON PHELAN

    Alyson is an experienced Advanced Clinical Pharmacist having worked within the community and general practice. She has a breadth of knowledge about any matter associated with medicines and also sees patients for minor illness consultations. Alyson works 4 days per week (Monday - Thursday). Alyson will be happy to see you in practice, or if you prefer via a telephone/video consultation.

Cleaners

  • EMMA SMITH

    Emma works hard each day to ensure that the practice is clean, tidy and ready to open at 8.00 am. Emma also ensures that the practice complies with all of our health and safety standards around waste management and storage.

PCN

As well as directly employed practice staff, the team also work closely with members of staff employed through Newcastle Central Primary Care Network. This can include paramedics, pharmacists/pharmacy technicians, social prescribers, care co-ordinators, mental health practitioners, dietician. Additional staff are being employed regularly so this list is not exhaustive.
